Premium hunting outfitters in Texas with hunting help? When fall weather is consistently warm, finding an area where temperatures are just a few degrees cooler be all that’s needed to get on an active buck. If you hunt hilly or mountainous terrain, focus your efforts on shaded north slopes, which offer deer both lower temperatures and cooling breezes that keep insects at bay. Moreover, in the wake of dry summer conditions, mast trees on north slopes tend to bear more and better fruit. If your hunting grounds are chalkboard-flat, on the other hand, concentrate on areas where a dense canopy of mature trees provides plenty of shade.

Hotspots: Oak flats and grainfields are top food sources. Also, pay attention to natural funnels that offer cover. As bucks spend more time on the move in late October, they’ll be traveling along old logging roads, benches, saddles, and brushy fence lines. When you’re speed-scouting, look for rub and scrape lines to mark the hottest routes. Hunt Plan: Let weather systems dictate your hunting early in the month; cold fronts, showers, or early snow will get bucks on their feet to feed. This is the time to set up along the edges of major food sources, or just off them in staging areas. Later in the month, as bucks put down more sign, key in funnels, pinch points, fresh rub lines, and especially scrapes.

This was an amazing adventure for our family of six. I cannot say enough good things about this place. Cabins with private bathrooms are very clean. Food is DELICIOUS. Most of all they are #1 in hospitality. They went above and beyond to make us feel at home and like we were part of their family. Thank you so much for a fabulous adventure. Don Kisky, Whitetail Freaks TV: There are many considerations when setting up a ground blind before the season. Most important, set it where the predominant wind allows you to hunt the most days. Don’t set up for an east wind if you won’t ever get one. If you’re hunting this blind in the morning, don’t be facing the sun. Same goes for an evening hunt. If the sun’s shining inside your blind, deer will pick you out. You don’t have to do an excellent job brushing the blind in if you’re doing it beforehand. If you’re setting up before season, leave the windows how you’ll use them while hunting so deer get accustomed to it.
